Shreyas Swaminathan is an artist captivated by human perception and sensation. How do our sensations combine to produce conscious awareness? What is the nature of illusions? How do our sensations and perceptions contribute to our lives in our natural, social and technological worlds? Shreyas explores these questions through an experimental and multidisciplinary practice that combines new media, sound design, sculpture, painting, drawing and printmaking — frequently building the technical systems behind the work himself. Shreyas lives and works in Bengaluru (India), having trained and practiced in Vancouver (Canada).
